Hypersonic™ batteries are based on A123Systems Nanophosphate™ technology. They are extremely well suited for R/C and offer 4 primary advantages:
Power: These batteries are capable of 30C continues discharge, with a 10 second pulse rating of 60C. With discharge capabilities up to 140 Amps it is easy to see the kind of power these batteries can bring to your hobby.
Safety: With a proprietary cathode material developed at MIT and a laser welded aluminum canister A123Racing offers the safest and most durable battery in the R/C market. These batteries are very abuse tolerant, both physically and electrically. The aluminum canister exterior of these batteries makes them extremely durable when abused. Car crashes and even aircraft crashes do not typically damage these cells. They can also tolerate an over voltage of .6V / cell before risk of permanent damage. They can be discharged to 2.0V / cell before re-charge is required, in most cases a low voltage cutoff is not even required. The most important safety aspect is that they are not subject to thermal runaway, which is the leading cause of combustion in the leading lithium polymer batteries.
Life: Our A123Racing packs are capable of being cycled up to 1000 times before significant capacity loss occurs. The rugged assembly of the products will ensure that your pack will last for years, not months.
Charge Time: The Nanophosphate™ technology is not only powerful and safe, but it also allows A123Racing packs to charge to 100% in 15 minutes. This charge rate can be applied time and time again with no impact on cycle life.
